My pc crashed and i had to switch the pc off by the switch
So when i switch back on the pc the moniter keeps saying its going to sleep and the comp has power going to it why does the moniter keep ging to sleep b4 the start up
Does it appear that the computer is actually starting up? I'm envisioning a computer where the power light comes on but you see no disk activity, hear no beeps or other sounds, and the keyboard doesn't respond to CapLock or NumLock.
In that case it's a computer problem, not a monitor problem. Can you confirm?Does it appear that the computer is actually starting up? If its truely in sleep mode, and won't come out of sleep mode. Unplug the computer from its power, hold the power button down for 5-15 sec, then wait 2-5 full minutes. Then plug it back in, and turn it on. If that doesn't work it is NOT stuck in sleep mode. Most dell computers I've worked with the caps go out in the power supply and/or the motherboard. I would next clean out the computer with canned air, check the caps on the motherboard, and in the power supply. If there are any bad caps, replace them, and it should fix it. Hopefully though the above paragraph fixes your problem.
The problem can be correct in the control panel power options..
select hig performance as the preferred plan,
click change plan settings
change both sleep options to never>>
this is caused by a corrupted display settings in the registery and needs to be reformatted or restored using the factory restore disc to fix the problem. the above solution will work just remember to put your system to sleep manually and turn of your monitor.
in control panel, select the power Options,, Change the preffered plans to HIGH PERFORMANCE then click on change plan settings, change turn of diaplayto never and put computer to sleep never... Remember to turn on your screen saver and put the pc to sleep manually when not using it.
this is a common problem and caused by corrupted registry entries. The popper fix is to reformat or restore the system.
Actually, Yes. It seems like you have answered your own question... Especially considering the monitor works on another computer.
Do you have another monitor to test on this computer?
Although another consideration could be if you recently installed or downloaded a program which may have changed your video output range to a setting your video monitor wont handle. If this is the case and you can start the computer in safe mode, this will allow you to go into your properties settings and change it back. This way, a new vid card is not req.
ur comp has an estimated time set by the company which is 20 mins if ther is no activity on the comp it goes to sleep wht u ave to do is go in device manager and uncheck the box in display frm advance option in tht way ur comp will never go to sleep dont know if u will understand this not good at typing working for tech supp for hp used to talking no typing

When you press your power button your system goes to sleep mode as per your system settings. To awake your system just press any key or 'Awake Key' (if its present on your keyboard), then your system will be back. No need to wait.
