How to replace bearing on maytag bravos washing machine

I got an F51 code on my Maytag Bravos XL washing machine. I looked on the bottom and it appears grease has been thrown from the bottom of the machine. Could this be a bearing problem and if so can I get a bearing or is this an all in one unit with the tub?

  • Hi David R, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add the model# in the comment box?

SOURCE: I have a Maytag Bravos MVWM750WQO washer. A F51 code came up and I called a repairman in he said it was the bearing and would be $406.59 to repair. Not sure if its worth it since its only 2 1/2 year

Well the failure is Motor RPS Failure. Depend how he consider the charge for parts+job.
I am sorry. Try to locate another tech service.
God bless you

You will need to replace the RPS sensor. There is a kit available that will update that washer to the current design. Here is the kit to order.

I have a Maytag Bravos washing machine that has just recently become really noisy when it goes into high speed spin. I have lifted the cover and found no items or debris. When I spin the tub by hand it...

Hi.

F51 is motor position sensor error. From manual:

F51: Motor RPS Failure
F then 51 flashes when there is a motor rotor position sensor (RPS) failure or lower harness problem.

The motor position sensor failure may be the result of a problem between basket and motor. The parts below the basket must be inspected. There is need to remove the basket to check parts in there. I can give you the procedure to remove the basket if you want.
