Since it doesnt sound like you have a special external firewire hdd recorder that can direct connect to the camera, you gotta capture it with your pc and send it to your hdd after. Watch out that most of those hdd are set (partitionned) as they cant transfer file bigger than 4.xx gig... (You can usually set file recording from your pro capture software that built multiple file no more bigger than 4 gig per file...

Where does USB from DVC Pro deck to into Mac hard drive?

AJ-D230H doesn't have a USB connection. A firewire interface is an option, but they're very hard to find; have been discontinued by Panasonic.

Transfer from pz card shot on HD to mini DV tape

you can transfer to DV tape only by using software like Edius 6 or a similar one.
First you download the p2 card on the hard drive and then you use this program to convert the video file to DV and use the camcorder as recorder connecting to pc via firewire .

How can i change my panasonic nv-gs230 mini dv

Best
1. Copy the video to your computer with WinDV. No "capturing" involved. The video resolution and PAL/NTSC format will be the same as the source.
2. Then convert to whatever format you like.

You could also use something that copy and converts the video directly from the DV, like convert to dvd with Ulead DVD Workshop.
DV is a fixed standard and comes in 50Hz and 60Hz versions.

50Hz ("PAL" 625/50) 720x576, 25fps interlace (aka 576i)
4:2:0 components, 25Mb/s Video Rate
LPCM audio 2ch 16bit 48KHz or 4ch 12bit 32kHz

60Hz ("NTSC" 525/60) 720x480, 29.97fps interlace (aka 480i)
4:1:1 components, 25Mb/s Video Rate
LPCM audio 2ch 16bit 48KHz or 4ch 12bit 32kHz

Meaning, You cannot change the camera. It is either a pal camera or a ntsc camera. Othewise you will have to by a firmware update from the manufacture's website.

Dvx100b

You have to go into your menu and turn the dv setting to off. This setting as it is now thinks you have an external device connected via the firewire (like a hard drive FS100) so, go into the recording settings on the menu, scroll down to 1394 or dv and turn this setting off.

How to convert dv tape from Canon ZR20 to MY COMPUTER hard drive?

To transfer video off your minidv cassettes from your camcorder you would need to have a firewire connection to your PC. Either a 4 to 4 pin connection (laptop) or a 4 to 6 pin (desk top computer). USB is used only for picture still transfer. Here are the steps;

1. Plug your mini Dv camcorder into an outlet
2. Plug in you firewire connection into your computer, then plug the other end into your camcorder.
3. Turn on your camcorder and switch your camcorder to Play/VCR
4. Select the software that you want use to do the transfer. Windows Movie Maker is the most assessable software since you have XP on your computer
5. Name your file
6. Select capture from video device (automatically will allow you to save the entire tape and manually would allow you to capture parts of the tape).

Those are the basic steps in some detail. You can save your file from there or you can go on to edit.

Panasonic DV PV-GS31..My PC (Vista) doesn't find UBS attachment

Hi There, You need to use your firewire cable from the camera to the computer. You need to have a large or seperate hard drive to accomadate the video. You need to have editing software, and not the ones that came with your computer, but something like Pinnacle Studio 09 which is pretty easy to use. About $149.00 USD.
Hope this helped. mr cicmo
