Avital 5103 in a 2011 wrangler, dealer installed, has been working for 2 years. Vehicle battery died and now alarm and remote start are not working. System chirps when lock/unlock is pressed, but doors don't lock or unlock. When armed, shock sensor will trigger alarm but doors will not. When trying to remote start, I can hear relays clicking but starter is totally inactive.

This may be a problem with wiring. I will need to know what the make and model is of the car. Also keyless entry system stock OEM or was that an option you have added? Lastly, did you install this system or was this installed by a cetified DEI corperation?
Thank you,
Luis

a common problem with cent lock is the wires in the door jam being pinched and broken, these are generally going to a aftermarket motor fitts ed in the door and there can be two or five wires .Also occasionaly the motor itself can be faulty so take of the door trim and check-it

It could be set on car #2. Press function for 8 seconds and a light next to lock should come on. If the light next to unlock and lock (two lights) then it is set to #2 car (you can operate 2 cars with one remote). All you have to do is press function again to toggle between the two cars. You want to end up with only one light showing.
So, hold function for 8 seconds, then after a light shows, release and press function until you only see the one light.

check on the bulldog security website for vehicle wiring color coding and discriptions. And the manufature web site for the units wiring outputs.

It sounds like the tech who installed this in your truck doesn't know what he is doing. I have been a tech for 20 years and have done 100's of these trucks for keyless remote starts. The door lock wires are in the drivers door or behind the glove box. There is some time in doing this because you have to build relays and use diodes for them to work, but it is possible to be done.I would find another place to do it and bill the first place that could not do it.
