Panasonic remote and volume/channel buttons do not work

My remote and the volume/channel buttons on the TV do not work, I can only turn the tv on and off. None of the buttons work on the remote or TV including the TV-Video button. I've tried the power reset (unplugging the tv for up to an hour) but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Any time I press a button the remote control blinks 3 times (under TV). I got the 1.04 firmware from Panasonic but when I put the SD card in the slot nothing happens and pressing the SD card button on the remote does nothing (again, remote control blinks 3 times). Any suggestions? Thank you in advance

My son put a penny in the SD card slot of my Pansonic flat screen tv. I finally got the penny out but now the volume and tv controls do not work. I can change the channels through my cable box but that is it. The volume does not work on my cable remote or the flatscreen. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?? Thanks, Josh

Try unplugging while the TV is still on and plug it back after 5 mins and check. it should work.
Mine did. I know this may be a crude method, but it worked.

Wow. Thank you so much. My daughter put a penny in our SD slot too....nothing was responding to any remote or buttons on the tv. The only thing we could do was turn it on. We unplugged the tv, fished out the penny...then plugged it back in and turned it on...boom...everything works again!

We promptly put a nice piece of clear tape over the sd flap so this won't happen again.

God bless the internet. :)

Thanks a lot. After reading your post i searched for a penny and found 1 in the sd slot as well. My 3 year old must have put it there lol. I took it out and all my controls work again. Now my volume isn't stuck on the max.

If none of the buttons work except power u should reset your tv. Hold vol- on tv and menu button on remote. Then unplug tv. Everything will be resset. And your remote control will work again.

I had the same problem with my TH-37PX60U. When you put the plug back in the TV will go to the beginning set up screen. Reset the date and time and it works fine.

My panasonic up/down channel buttons on the side of the tv wont work

Try getting a Harmony remote control. It will operate your tv and anything else you can connect to it. When the TV gets too old to fix, the remote can be reprogrammed for the new TV, so it never gets obsolete. The remote is programmed from their website.

Panasonic CT 27 SL - 13 GL how to connect external speakers

This TV is set up to connect to an external amplifier which that controls the speakers. It has an analog audio output which means you need an RCA audio cable (2 RCA plugs (red and white) on each end. You can't directly connect a set of speakers. The audio output jacks at between the antenna in and the video inputs. Then you need to enter the menu and enter the Audio submenu. Go to the Speakers item. Turn the TV speakers to off and fixed audio out.(The amplifier will adjust the volume.) Use the Up/Down arrows to navigate through the menu options, press enter to enter a sub-menu and the volume up button to change a setting.

There is also a headphone jack which may be compatible with computer speakers. That has a 3.5 mm jack. To use headphones, set the Speakers Audio item to TV speakers Off and variable audio out. (The TV controls will adjust the volume.)

To use a Universal remote to set the audio or modify the channel list, you need one that matches the Menu function of the original remote. You may need to try multiple codes for Panasonic TVs to get the button to work. Some low-end universal remotes may not have the menu button; get a different remote or use the menu button on the front panel of the TV.

To set the channel list, press Menu and select Setup. Go to the Prog Chan option. Then set your Mode in the first option (Cable or Air). Then choose Auto Program to scan all channels or Manual Program to edit the channel list.

The manual for the TV is available at retrevo: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-CT-27SL13-TVs-manual/id/275ag210/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the manual. See page 5 of the manual for the input connections (page 7 of the PDF).
