Consistent, faded and streaking vertical lines across entire page, from top to bottom.

My Samsung ML-2010 has started printing consistent, faded and streaking vertical lines across an entire page from top to bottom.  I have created a test page of solid black lines and the pattern is 100% (as far as I can see) the same on each and every line.  Pattern does not suggest a problem with the print roller.  Just filled my toner cartridge, and downloaded new driver, but problem still exists.  Starting to believe problem is with the laser gun, or circuitry itself, but would like to get a definitive answer.  This printer is 1 1/2 years old.

Found the problem.  Took apart the drum assembly and found that the opening where the toner comes out onto the drum was the culprit.  Appears the toner was possibly clogging up at the opening, so I simply cleaned it up and that took care of the problem.

I have the same problem. Can you give me some direction on how to disassemble the cartridge to get at the offending area? I am somewhat familiar with the catridge since I have refilled a few. How did you protect the drum from light during what must have been a fairly lengthy process? The product lit says more than a few minutes in light is bad for the drum. The problem cartridge is a genuine Samsung ML-2010D3 that still has toner in it and has never been refilled.

I am having exactly similar problem with my printings .... After spending some time doing toner autopsy i figured out that the culprit is the Foam strip that cleans the roller which rolls in conjunction with drum...

When u disassemble the toner you will see a black roller which remains in contact with the drum. This roller gets cleaned by the Foam strip which possibly has been wiped out right at that location where vertical lines are produced

How do I fix my Samsung Multi-function laser printer which has started to print smudged pages.

try to stop the sheet just before it enters the fuser and see if the marks are on the paper already. if not then it has to be the fuser if they are them you have another issue.

I have dark streaks with all print-outs on a Samsung ML-2510. It goes away on a new cartridge.

This is a common problem with a close-to-empty cart.

A new cartridge will have even toner, and will distribute it evenly to the page.

An older toner will start to streak and line onto the page.

Another issue could be the fuser... some of the new printers have a fuser built into the cart unit... so that when you replace the cartridge it replaces the fuser as well.

A fuser can become dirty and thus not distribute toner evenly across the page.

Cheers!

Faded-out streak

check your ink levels. if its the ink that came with the printer it is probable running out of ink. they do not give a full cartridge with printers, only about 3rd full. also try cleaning the heads. and try changing your printer settings/prefrences to less ink, more drytime see if that helps.

Faint vertical lines on Samsung ML-2010

Was the toner remanufactured/ compatible?
Sounds to me like the doctor blade in the cartridge is 'gummed' up and not allowing the toner to flow evenly across the Developer roller......try another cartridge
