E20 code. Not draining

E20 is blocked filter

Have you taken the filter out at the front of the washer and cleaned it. Mine wouldn't drain but once I did that it worked ok.

Error code E20 relates to the pump/filter blocked.Drain the water either manually through the filter or drain hose.Check that filter is clean and pump can turn by hand.

Did you fix this problem? We have the same with Zanussi ZWD 1472 W. It takes some water and stops after 2 minutes. We need to shut machine down and fill water manually. It works fine then.

E20 is an error code for drainage failure.



Check where the appliance drain hose connects to the house drains for a blockage.

If it's onto a spigot under the sink, take them off and check both for a blockage.

If these are ok then it's likely to be a blockage in the pump.



You'll need to drain the water out manually.

Put a shallow dish below the filter and slacken the filter.

Tighten it to stop the flow of water while you empty the dish.

Once empty, take the filter out, clean out the debris and ensure nothing is left jamming the pump.

Before refitting the filter, put the machine on drain or spin and listen at the filter housing to see if you can hear the pump running.

If you do, fit the filter and try the machine again.

I report :"E20 means your fluff filter / waste pipe is getting blocked and themachine cannot pump out the water. Try unblocking the fluff filterfirst at the bottom of the machine. This should work, if the faultappears again though and the fluff filter is clean your waste pipe isblocked and you need to flush this through. Can you tell what I've justspent my weekend doing, I have had to get the most unbelievable amountof limescale out of these 2 areas but machine is now working fine again."

E40 is door interlock error, it means that either the door interlock is stuck or faulty, or the wiring from door interlock to main control board are not connected.

E20 = Problems with water drain in wash phase ALARM CODES E20 Is the drain filter clean; Problems during draining phase (Machine tries to drain for 10 min without emptying the tub) Checks to do: E20 Is the drain pump working? Is the value of the pump about 200Ω? (Measure directly the connector by the board, between J2-2 and J2-7) ; If No Change the pump and run again Clean the filter; Is the draining system OK (drain hose and plumbing where machine is connected) Free and check the draining system; Is the pump blocked? Is there any burn mark on the control board; if yes Change the board E90 = Communication error between user interface and main board. Verify the connector between the main board and user interface board by plugging and unplugging the connector few times on both sides, OR replace the blue ribbon cable. Check water "forreign object trap". It's under the lid at the bottom of the machine. First drain water by pulling out the hose and pull out the plug. Then unscrew the trap. Have had this E20 error twice. First it was two coins there, next it was a big paperclip. Have worked fine ever since.
