Seized knob, won't turn

Get some rust buster and apply it to the valve stem liberally. Work the shaft in and out a bit to loosen the shaft. Let that rust buster sit on there a bit. Good stuff.

DCS 305 cootktop: one burner will not stop clicking + the simmer flame is not on consistently around the burner.

Hello- What is probably happening is that the simmer orifice is clogged. If this gets clogged-up and not enough gas comes out to the burner it will continue to click. This is usually pretty easy to remedy. Take off the burner cap and you will see two holes, one in the center for the main burner and a smaller one that is on the perimeter of the burner. Look down that small hole and you should see a bronze orifice, it is pretty small, about 1/8" in diameter on the outside, looks like a nut. Most likely you will see grease or charred bits on the top of it (you can use one of the other burners for a reference if you are having trouble seeing it clearly) In the center of the orifice is a tiny hole, this is the part that is likely clogged. Now, you'll need to find something really skinny, like thin sewing needle and poke it into the orifice opening. Sometimes it is necessary to hold onto the needle with needle-nosed pliers in order to get it far enough in. Just be gentle with it and if what you are using seems too large in diameter then it probably is, you don't want to dent or cause any damage to the orifice opening. Once you get it cleaned out it should work ok. Let me know if you have any questions. Best regards.

Burner won't light

is gas comeing out of the hole? sometimes by cleaning the orfice hole (food and debrie will get in there and plug the hole not letting the gas come through) i get a needle and poke it.

when you say it is sparking...When you turn the dial for that specific one you want ignited... That one is sparking? If so Great. This means you either have a plug or the valve is bad and not letting the gas flow through.

Side burner on Jennaire grill

Hello
The soot stains come from the air mixture, that will show too much yellow flame tips, just adjust the air intake, too have an idea how much to adjust it, and also it wouldn't hurt to clean the flames holes by sticking a pin. Alos make sure you have the right fittings converters. It's the grill LP Gas or Natural?
Hope this help

Romvoing the top of my Whirlpool Cooktop

first thing is the spark module(ignitor-- your referring to) is probably good and your electrodes are damaged. more then likely the problem. when you turn on one burner they should all spark( 1 module controls all 5 electrodes) so lets check that, first. when you turn on any/all burners do you at least hear clicking??. theres a switch under each **** that turns on the spark(erhaps one of them is bad. think of the electrodes as spark plugs on a car, they spark the same way, ck to see that they are clean(free from rust and carbon build up).using emory cloth or a woman's finger nail file try "sanding" down to a shiny surface the very tip of the electrode protruding out of the burner head.look for cracks in the porcelin housing around the electrodes this will lead to miss fires of the electrodes

Flame too low

Most probably dirty jets. If water was spuilled, there is a possibility of rust forming on some parts. Low flames are usually due to inadequate gas supply, due to dirty jets and burners. Often rust forms on the top burners in the little holes, causing slight blockage - clean the holes with a needle properly and check. Oshie
