I have 4 workstations using windows 7 that uses the HP deskjet 6122. Everytime the computer turns on or restarts and goes to the log in screen, the printer starts printing a page with a line of random characters on it. I've tried everything from re-installing the drivers and resetting the printer itself, and it hasn't worked. Is there anything else I haven't tried?
There are a couple of things you can do. Clearing the print spooler or buffer is one of them. Click start and type printer and printer control should show up. Click on that and then select the tab that allows you to clear it. You can also stop the service if that does not work.

hi i am having roughly the same problems i use cad and have not even managed to print that far yet what windows are using?
SOURCE: Can't print from Adobe Acrobat
I was unable to print with adobe as well. I changed the document to print as an image under the advanced tab.
SOURCE: Can't print to HP 2600n over network
The LaserJet 2600N has a built-in print server and can be connected to the local network (normal ethernet cable) directly. While printer sharing via Windows should work, I found it much more convenient to access it without the need of a hosting computer - you do not need to switch on the desktop PC for printing from the Laptop, for example, its also printing faster.
