Hello, My older Cr 1604 worked great through last gig. Playing CD post gig suddenly and without warning all output stopped. Over the last two years I noticed the "top" nearest "trim" adjustments was getting warm. This happened once while using it on a warm day two years ago. Shut it off and when it cooled it worked great. After the other night it won't output.....powers up fine.
The power supply is located in that area on one side. It is possible that one of the output op-amp ICs has failed. There are a number of 4558 ICs used as output buffers for this unit. Without seeing the unit and testing parts of it, I can't say for sure. These are not the easiest to work on as they are really compact. Where are you located? I may be able to suggest a service center in your area. The repair cost should not be too bad. The parts are cheap and readily available. Please update this with your location. Thanks, Dan
