wht do u exatly mean by demo mode?

In security settings press and hold select + square + L1 and L2


than enter 1 of these following codes depending on your version number


1.5x code: 5202
1.6x code: 7568
1.7x code: 0506
1.8x code: 7712 or 7259

and the ps3 will be unlocked from demo mode.
but be aware that this will only be for a couple of minutes.
so make sure you have the latest firmware the not demo one but the ordinary from the playstation site on a removable storage media
something like a memory stick or flash drive

so you can update immediately after unlocking you ps3! only this way you can completely unlock your system!!

6558 works but you still can't go online and every time you start the system up again it's in deminstration mode you are f'ed like me, and what thay don't tell you is that when you type this code in you have to go to settings then go down to security settings and hold r1 r2 select and square then input the code.

there is no way to remove it it is a stoleing unit you by only stroe unils have demo mode on them sony puts in on there so the stores can give preview of what system can do and you can try it out allretail sysatems do not come in demo mode so yours was stoleing only thing you can do si see if pawn shop willgive money back if not your stuck with it as if sony finds out you have one they will press charges or just take system and not give back
now depending on what demo mode your runing there are codes to unlock them each time you use system jsut search for unlocking codes online
