SC542 error = Fusing temp. warming-up error

Its a hot section error, not a good one, to reset push in order, clear modes(yellow), 1, 0, 7, hold stop/clear for 5 seconds, if it comes right back service needed. -Carl

fuser has a problem fix first. Then buy service manual will tell how to clear it or get a tech.

First fix fuser unit thermistor bad then service mode and rest set code

In your machine (model) you have to enter in SP mode to reset your error code.
Try this:
Yellow key.
1-0-7 on the key pad
Red key at least 3 sec.
Press "copy sp"
On the key pad press 5 810 and #.
Press execute
Exit all the way out.
Turn the machine off and on.

Ricoh Aficio error SC542

SC542 means that the thermistor hasn't detected right temperature in given time.

Often you only have to reset service code.




Try this reset:

• Press and hold online + escape, then power on.
• Use up and down arrow keys to select SP2
• Press Enter
• Use up and down arror to locate SP5
• Press Enter
• Use up and down arrow keys to select 810
• Press Enter
• Confirm the selection
• Power off and on.
