I recently got an Apex 32 in flat screen for Xmas. All was well, picture was of great quality but for the past 3 nights, all of my upper channels have had a static background noise. The picture and sounds are still there but there is this static noise. This only happens at night. Please help..
Have you checked other sources...Dvd, computer anything will isolate the problem to the source you are watching.
Could be anything from bad reception, bad cabling to something like a fridge or other electronic equipment that works at the time you using it and creating interference. Try moving it to another place in your home , just to check what you can control, check the cabling, any wear or damage sure to cause issues with reception- best to have a professional check it, with the right tools, training and know how, it is a quick and guaranteed fix
The time is the clue static in the background is electrical interference this can be caused by faulty electrical appliances UHF ham and CB Radios etc ask neighbours if and when they suffer this interference this will help to locate and identify the cause ie the closer you get the worse it'll be
Once you identify the source the culprit may decide to fix the appliance desist from operation or you can buy filters to eliminate the cause of static noise once you know the cause

Try pressing the "F" or function button and hold while pressing the Mute or "M" button at the same time. Hope this helps.

make sure the TV time is correct. Reset the time. if that does not work, but the TV operates ok, it's in the circuit board, or could be a fuse problem.

I fixed the problem by taking the batteries out of the remote and unplugging the tv for 30 minutes. At the end of 30 minutes I replaced the batteries then pushed each button on the remote in order. I then plugged the tv back in and everything worked again.
Weird.
