I have a 35mm film camera. I took pictures without realizing that I didn't have film inside. Afterward, I pushed the button on the bottom of the camera. I tried rewinding it to pop the back open.

What camera is it? On most older film cameras you lift the rewind crank to release the back or a separate lock for the back. Not having a film in will not affect the back opening mechanism. Check the book for your camera.

This is kind of embarassing... i received an old nikon f65, and i don't know how to remove the film properly without burning it...

The film should rewind automatically at the end of the roll. If it doesn't, press the two film-rewind buttons simultaneously for about one second. The film rewind buttons are maked with a red film icon; one is also the exposure compensation button to the right of the LCD control panel, the other is the auto exposure bracketing button to the left of the viewfinder.

Once the film is rewound, turn the power off. Slide the release lever on the left end of the body, and the back should pop open a little.

Rewind!?

If it is an SLR, there is a recessed button on the bottom of the camera that you push, then you flip the little handle out of the supply rear on top and crank clockwise, after the film is rewound and the real spins real easy, lift the supply real with the little handle and the back will pop open.

Pwr cord rewind reel

You have to pop the grey button off for the cord rewind. There is one more screw under there. You have to be very careful, because you can break one of the tabs that hold the button on. In fact, it is almost a garuntee. There are three tabs that stick off the button that hold it in place on the orange hood. There's a long tab about 3/4 inch long on the inside corner of the button you need to be careful of. Good luck!

there should be a small but long narrow window on the back of the camera that should tell you if theres film in ther or not. to open the camera, flip the rewinding crank (located on the top left) and pull up until the back pops open.
