The soap dispenser door on my GE Adora dishwasher (which is less than a year old) has suddenly stopped opening during the wash cycle. It opens fine when I push the button with my finger, but it's always closed at the end of the wash! What do I do?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
I had the same problem with my GE Adora. The dishes were getting cloudy and the soap dispenser would not open. Turns out the hard water deposits were causing the soap dispenser to stick shut. I purchased and used Dishwasher Magic which is a dishwasher cleaner designed to remove limescale, rust and buildup. I used as directed and now my dishes are sparkling and the soap dispenser pops right open.

Hello Eric, thank you for your post!
I understand that the dispenser on your Frigidaire dishwasher opens but the soap is not dispensing into your dishwasher. How old is your dishwasher soap? If it is around a year old you may need to discard it and use a new soap. Also check to make sure when you stack dishes that they are not obstructing the arms from reaching the dispenser. Make sure your spray arms are clear of any debris that could block the distribution of water inside of your dishwasher. You may need to connect with a professional technician for proper repairs if these steps do not correct your issues. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Without looking up the date of purchase, my Maytag dishwasher, model # DWU7910AAx, is about 8 years old. It has worked beautifully, however, the door of the soap dispenser has stopped opening. I can open the door after the wash and the soap in the "main wash" section is still there. I tried running the washer with the soap door opened the whole time, thinking it needed to be washed so it wouldn't stick, but that did not resolve the problem. The soap door still springs open well when I depress the latch and stays latched when closed. The gasket around the little door looks a bit worn, but I don't think it leaks because the soap is not used up after the wash. I'm still using the same settings I have always used - Temp boost: on, Rinse temp: sani, Fan dry: heat. I usually start the washer on a time delay, but not always. Any help is appreciated.
