Robosapien v2 bad motivator

We recently purchased the black and silver signature series V2 from Ebay. Looked like it had barely ever been used. It worked great until the first time we attempted the "lie down, sit, get up" sequence. Upon standing, it continued motion completely forward and face-planted. Saying "Bad Motivator". Now it remains in this position or totally backwards and will not rectify an upward position. It also will not respond to any of the other commands other then to fall into one of these two positions and repeat "Bad motivator" and "Stabilizer bolt engaged" only rarely does it say the second. We are really frustrated that this toy only functioned properly for about 30 minutes. Any suggestions?

We have checked for the crumbling wires. Nothing appears out of order with wiring.

I had the bad motivator problem when he was standing up, then he wouldnt turn on at all. i wasnt about to let my robot be returned, i took off the leg plates and found the problem"
wire covering confetti spilled out of the leg plate, the part where the wire cluster for the right leg goes into the leg from the hip had the charictaristics of being mangled by a dog, minus the slobber. the bad chinese wire batch plus the constand rubbing if the leg plate had cause the wires to be exposed and crossed with each other, i fixed it by sealing each wire in electrical tape and binding the whole cluster in zip ties, and putting the leg back on, he worked perfectly.
i just thought id post this information because the "bad motivator" problem and the crusty wire insulation problems may be linked. as it was for me.Hope This Helps.

My new robosapien 8081 shutdown while walking and will not powerup again. remote seems alright. put in new batteries. how do i get the robot to come on?

I have no special knowledge about the difficulty with your robot. However, here are videos which may offer some information. There are variations of the wowwee robots of which the 8081 is one such. There is a 12 or 13 part series of YouTubes about repair of some of these. I presume you didn't put the new batteries back in the wrong direction when you replaced them after the robot stopped. Sometimes the simple stuff trips us up.

Just bought a used WowWee Robosapien Humoid Toy Robot with Remote Control and need help in operating the robot. Are there instructions/manuel available to download?

Hi, first be aware that there are three models of Robosapiens, the V1 (13" tall), V2(23" tall), and RS Media (23" tall with video screen on chest). The WowWee website has the manuals for the Robosapiens and they can also be found at several independent forums). Here's the link to the Robo V1 support page where the manual can be downloaded from: http://www.wowwee.com/en/support/robosapien. You'll see a drop down menu "SUPPORT BY PRODUCT" to get to the other manuals. You can also fins a lot of help at forums, I'd recommend starting at http://www.robocommunity.com/forums.
Good luck,'

The WowWee (RSD2) Robosapien V2 Robot remote worked for 5 minutes after I started working with the robot and then quit never to work again. The LEDs do not light up as buttons are pushed. Of course the...

Open the Robot, and check the cables, this Robosapiens V2 has a well known problem with the wire harness that go from main board to the bateries trough the legs. They have a major problem in the wire insulations that crumbles and short the wires. No easy solution exist. Yo need to rewire by your own or accept that will never work again.

Belt on steam vac v2

The V2 doesn't use a belt, it uses a turbine to drive the brush block, If brushes are not turning, either the shaft on the brush block broke off, or the turbine is bad and will have to be replaced.
