Reset 4 digit lock code for iPad 2

Hi John,

If you cannot remember your lock code, you will need to restore your device as new or be able to restore a backup if you cannot remember your lock code.

If you do remember your lock code you can update it in the settings app:

Click on Settings and then scroll down to the Passcode option (you may have to scroll down a bit). This will bring you to the Passcode Lock menu where you can turn off or update your lock code.

Hope that helps!

connect the pad to your computer and open iTunes, turn off the ipad, then hold both the lock and the home button for 10 seconds, then release the lock button while continuing to hold the home button until iTunes recognizes the iPad.

I am unable to update my I pad 2 to iOS 5 as I don't have a lap top

you need to ask somebody with a computer like friend, neighbour, office pal or an Apple shop.
- because only since iOS 5, it is possible to upgrade the iOS version without the need to connect the iOS device to a computer with iTunes (over-the-air update) am-unable-update-pad-2-ios-5-as-gipl0ginrcpb3zqmhnz5bdpq-5-0.jpg am-unable-update-pad-2-ios-5-as-gipl0ginrcpb3zqmhnz5bdpq-5-2.jpg am-unable-update-pad-2-ios-5-as-gipl0ginrcpb3zqmhnz5bdpq-5-5.jpg
