SOURCE: WASHING MACHINE DRUM WILL NOT TURN

There is no adjustment provided for lining up the pulleys.
If it comes off then there are a couple of reasons that come to mind, the belt is too slack, the belt is worn, the drum is out of alignment with the motor pulley, caused by worn drum bearings, the motor is loose, a loose drum pulley, or you are not lining the belt up properly, overloading can also throw the belt off.
Hope this helps.
Plz leave feedback.

SOURCE: drum not turning

If you are certain that the motor was turning, then the only things that come to mind are that:

  1. The belt is stretched or worn-Replace as there is no adjustment.
  2. The drum is stalled, either because it has seized, or there is something stuck in the drum.
  3. The motor brushes are worn, and will not cope with load of drum, check brushes.
Try running it on fast spin without the belt on , if it spins o/k, then that would indicate the motor is o/k.
Please leave a fixya rating for my solution.
Thanks.

SOURCE: My WF000 drum has stopped

The drum should spin freely with the belt off, there should be no resistance, if there is, then it could be main bearing problem, or somethig stuck between inner and outer drum.

Hi, I've got a Kenmore model 110.70052991 and the drum won't rotate. It will intermittently. I have just replaced the belt and it still won't spin consistently. Could it be the

are u able to spin the drum manually? do u hear any sounds? squeaking? scraping? smell anything? the rollers (spinners lol) usually make funny noises when they go out and may still turn but roughly. Bad bearings may be an issue here? However if the motor has bad windings it may not have enough power to run (turn) drum consistantly, u can remove the drum and belt and housing and run the motor by itself and see if it turns and runs easily. with no pressure or weight added? Then add drum and belt, once the drum is added and it stops or runs half hazardly its ur motor ? In some cases the tensioner the belt sits on ( near the motor) can be damaged and cause similar problems , lastly u did add the belt correctly?

Washer won't spin, motor sounds like its working, belt is fine...what do I check or do?

The belt may look fine, but if the motor is spinning, then the belt isn't transferring the motion to the drum.

First, make sure you can turn the drum by hand. Turn off the power. Reach inside the drum, grab the opposite sides and turn. If it moves more than a few inches, then it isn't the drum that's stuck. Possibly the belt tensioner has slackened and needs to be adjusted.

Kenmore electric dryer won't start

it is possible that your belt is broken open the door manually turn the drum by hand if it turns frely then the belt is broken if not it could be your door switch that has failes but normally for this problem its a broken belt
