Motor runs for a second or two on proform 550e, then stops
My problem was exactly as stated by the previous person. It started after a ball lodged under the walking area. I turn it on, the motor runs like a charm for a sec or two and then stops.

AT FIRST YOU CHECK SPEED SENSOR IN FRONT OF ROLLER BELT OF TREADMILL OR SOMETIMES IT IS MOUNT ON MOTOR THIS PART HAVE 2 OR 3 WIRE THAT FOLLOW TO CONTROLLER MOTOR BOARD .

Unplug the motor from the board and plug it in to an 18 volt drill battery to see if it runs. It more than likely will and this means the motor control board is bad. You can get lucky on ebay occasionally and get one in the 50-60 dollar price range but don't go any higher then that amount. These boards are built to fail and to replace them new costs more then the treadmill is worth. Mine had a blown capacitor only and I replaced it with exact same and still no luck. Junked it and wont replace unless I buy it used and dirt cheap. Good luck.
please see the video attached. lube the rollers bearing front+ back
2) test the input terminal voltage motor, if there ARE the motor is faulty. see my personal TIPS for motor help 3) test the output voltage board, if there ARE NOT voltage for input voltage MOTOR, the board is faulty.
God bless you
1) i recommend that you lube very well deck belt + rollers bearing
2) see the videos.
3) see the block
4) Try to RUN the software calibration, for troubleshooting.
5) measure the input voltage motor, if there are the motor need repair. 6) Measure the output voltage board, for input voltage board, if there are NOT, the board is faulty.
adjust the speed sensor, clean, and tigh the connector very well, see the diagram attached, 2) RUN the software calibration for diagnose, and troubleshooting and fix it.
To calibrate the speed follow these steps. Press stop and speed up and place the safety key in its spot. release the stop and speed up. Press stop again. The windows on the console (speed & time) will be all zeros. Press speed up, the time window will increase. The belt should start to move. Increase this number to 85. This is maximum speed. Adjust the potentiometer to the correct maximum speed. The console will beep until the correct speed is adjusted (+ or - .2mph). If the machine suddenly goes dead when in use, you may have a static electricity problem. Check that the ground pin is present on the plug and check your outlet for a proper ground connection.
