6 red blinks on sony tv

SOURCE: Sony KDF-E55A20

I want to clean the projector sitting in the back as I see that there is some dust on it. I dont know if that is a good idea or not or if it will even make a difference with the image on the screen. I want to take a pc of cotton and windex to it while I am waiting for my thermal fuse. Anyone with advice?

Same problem here. 5 blinks is video related. I've been told to clean the screen by the lamp, as they could be clogged and causing it to over heat. Going to give thet a try first. I'll post what happens...

4 times blink error shows that any FAN is not running in TV as there are 4 fans in this TV.
Please check fan connectors and make sure all are plugged securely.

SOURCE: The power/standby light blinks red

Hi,
Please make sure lamp cover is fixed properly as it was removed to replace/ check lamp in tv.
If lamp cover is not fixed, tv will not turn On and red light will blink 3 times.

SOURCE: Light blinks red twice every 5 or so seconds on sony 24in 3d display. Anyone have or know the problem here?

same basic thing happened on my 50 in Hitachi plasma...I removed the back cover and found two capacitors on my power supply swelled...and two chips on one display board burned.Hatachi doesnt make the tv anymore and the parts were going to cost me almost what the tv did new...so...I sold it for parts on ebay...check all the boards for tell tale signs of damage...
