Possibly the ribbon cable that goes to the screen came lose from the main circuit board. I suggest you find a YouTube video on disassembling your tablet and watch it. Where the ribbon cable attaches to the board, there will be a fastener that holds it in place that either slides out or flips up. It won't look like there's any sort of fastener there so make sure you watch the video that shows how it works.
In the video I've linked, one could get the impression that how you unfasten the ribbon cable latch is up to the user (slide it or flip it up) but it's not your option. It depends on the design of the connector. How to disconnect reconnect Ribbon Clip from laptop 1
Do you have a friend with a name brand tablet that could come over and test if your wifi can handle streaming? If another tablet gets the same results as your tablet it could be a issue with your wifi access point. I don't use Netflix anymore but can you confirm your new tablet has enough processing power to stream video? Can you stream youtube HD videos?

Here is my answer: There is no way to edit the screen ratio on the new iPad or any iPad for that matter. They went with 4:3 because the majority of users use the device to browse the internet and read e-magazines or e-books on it. As you know the screen gets cut off when you go to fullscreen or it has those annoying black bars above and below. If you're looking to watch video do it on a computer or your TV. The new iPad isn't made for heavy video watching IMO.
Rock player is solid for videos you put on there or download (flv) but it does not allow you to watch on the web. I had occasional luck with dolphin hd browser on my r102 which is essentially the same model. (go to 4shared.com and search dolphin apk) or anywhere on the internet really. It's free. Other than that you can put a custom ROM on it (jgm or macho are the leaders for cruz readers at this time). For more info on all of that search velocity cruz custom rom you can put either of the names I put above in the search. Look for slatedroid or xda forums. I would start with slatedroid the community expects much less of you. If you root you will have access to overclocking, Google's android market, you'll also be able to mask your device as some better faster device so that the android market doesn't prevent you from downloading certain things for the most part you will not be able to watch flash videos online. The device is slow and so are most (not all) flash videos. Many of them aren't made well and that is a big part of the reason that flash is no longer going to be on the internet. good luck
That's because YouTube uses a software called 'Adobe Flash' for displaying Videos. iPad and all other iOS devices don't support Adobe Flash. So you won't be able to watch YouTube videos on iPad. However, YouTube has launched a test version of their site in HTML5. Head over to youtube.com/html5Then "join the HTML5 trial". You should now be able to watch videos.
