Error printing scanned

When printing scanned documents that are viewed with powerweb active x version 2.3.0 from a Powerweb application the user gets the following error message.

Scenario 1

The error message indicates that significant changes were made to the configuration of the computer. In addition to this error message, you may also experience any of the following symptoms:
  • When you try to activate the 2007 Office suite, the Activation Wizard disappears.
  • When you try to to activate the 2007 Office suite over the Internet, you receive a communications-related error.
  • When you try to activate a 2007 Office suite , the Activation Wizard does not start. Additionally, you receive no error messages.

Scenario 3
You try to activate the 2007 Office suite over the phone. However, after you enter the confirmation ID that the support staff supplied to you, you receive an error message. The error message states that the confirmation ID is invalid.

Scenario 4
When you successfully started a 2007 Office application and all functions worked correctly for you in the past, the 2007 Office application now runs in a reduced functionality mode.

Scenario 5
When you start a 2007 Office Trial version for the first time after you complete License Activation, the 2007 Office Trial version runs in a reduced functionality mode, and the Office Activation Wizard is displayed. Additionally, the following text is displayed:

2007 Office system is expired. In this expired state, many features of the version are unavailable until you convert to the full product. Click Convert to begin the conversion process.

Note This activation problem indicates that the Opa12.dat file is corrupt for the 2007 Office application. Scenario 6
When you try to obtain an activation key for a trial version of the 2007 Microsoft Office system over the Internet, you receive the following error message:The Microsoft Activation Assistant was unable to request your trial activation key
This issue is temporary until the updated version of Try Microsoft Office 2007 is available. Microsoft is in the process of updating Try Microsoft Office 2007 based on the January 2010 update for Office Word. Cannot Scan Document into my computer after doing the following: click scan; click download to computer; clicked OK; receive message Downloading Application; then receive message cannot retrieve...

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer. Reboot your pc. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer. Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection.


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

1. Disconnect the printer from your computer.

2. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).

2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

3. Delete the Lexmark print object.

4. Reboot your pc.

5. When your pc turns on, reconnect the printer.

6. Wait until your pc fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, then try to print/scan again.

Once a doc is scanned on a 8300 series all in one, how do I get the scanned image from the printer to a word doc? Looked

You can actually scan directly to an application(ex. MS Word application). Also, make sure the Lexmark OCR scan software is installed on your computer (the software is available on the install disc that came with your printer).
1. Load an original document into the ADF or on the scanner glass. 2. Press Scan Mode. 3. Press ? or ? repeatedly until the MS Word application is highlighted. 4. Press check button. 5. Press Start Color or Start Black to start scanning.

The scanner keeps jamming. i try to scan form the document feeder &the papers keep getting stuck. It will not complete a scan!what do i do?

In summary: * Very unintuitive, convoluted and unpleasant to use (same on Win2K as XP) - sometimes the SW hangs during scan and needs a reboot - sometimes the SW crashes with a dialogue "try reinstalling HP software", and needs a reboot - sometimes it scans and after conversion to pdf
Advantages: I cannot see any advantages with this product
Disadvantages: Software is convoluted and unreliable, paper jams are difficult to clear

*If the sheet-feeder jams is says to refer to the documentation to clear it, which doesn't exist. There is no way to clear the jam except to pull hard & hope. No levers to release it like one would expect.

Everything has to be started by pressing a button on an application called "HP Director". There are 4 apps started from this:
1) Scan Picture
2) Scan Document
3) Make Copies
4) View & Print
also Help
also Settings (which are used in conjunction with settings found in (1) and (2)!)
- Each application has to be exited to return to "HP Director"
its a worst scanner

I get an error message when I scan. It says Error

ISSUE: The error Waiting for PC is displayed on the control panel when scanning, using the Start Scanbutton on the control panel. The user will also notice a Not Setup on PC error when pressing theScan to … button. Note that scan from the PC works properly without an error. SOLUTION: The probable causes for this issue are listed below:
  • Firewall denying access to PC
  • Device polling not enabled
  • The scan to function is not enabled in the HP Toolbox
  • The destination has not been added to the Scan to button from HP toolbox
  • The HP Toolbox is losing the scan to destination
How to troubleshoot this issue:
  1. PC protection software such as firewall software may prohibit proper communication between HP AiO products and Toolbox and scanning software. Firewalls may need to be reconfigured to allow Toolbox to communicate with the AiO. The Toolbox software is similar to Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer in this way. Temporarily disabling firewall software may be helpful in determining if it needs to be reconfigured for Toolbox to operate properly. Please contact your third party firewall software vendor if assistance is needed to reconfigure the firewall. The following third party support Web sites may be useful:
  2. When Device Polling is turned off, the Alerts and the Scan to e-mail or folder options in the HP Toolbox are disabled, and the START SCAN function on the HP LaserJet AiO product control panel is also turned off. CLICK HERE for instructions on how to turn on Device polling.
  3. To program the device SCAN TO ... button, view the device settings. Open the HP Toolbox and click the Scan to tab. For more information, CLICK HERE to view the document titled HP Color LaserJet 2840 AiO Series Products - How to use "Scan To E-mail" or "Scan to Folder" from the Device
  4. The User loses the folder when choosing to save scanned files under the Scan to Folderoption of the Scan to Tab. The User also may lose the email settings under the Scan to Emailoption of the Scan to Tab. The User restarts the toolbox and it works for some time and the problem repeats again. Perform the following in the order listed to resolve this issue:

About Scanning images
You can scan images from the machine to a computer without printing them and save them in popular formats. Scanned data saved on your computer can be processed using image processing software. Furthermore, you can use the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software to convert scanned paper documents to text data.

* Before scanning
Before scanning images, confirm the following :
- Are the necessary software (MP Drivers and MP Navigator) installed ?
If the software is not installed, install it.
- Does the document to be scanned meet the requirements for an original to be set on the Platen Glass ?
- Is the machine connected to a computer correclty.
Confirm that the connection between the machine and the computer is physically secure.

Scanning Methods.

A) Scanning Using the MP Navigator
MP Navigator enables you to scan in documents loaded on the Platen Glass and view images saved on your computer or on a memory card. Scanned documents can be previewed and easily printed and edited according to your needs.
You can use the supplied application softwares to edit or print the document you have scanned.

Windows : Double-click the [MP Navigator 2.0] icon on your desktop to launch MP Navigator.
Mac : Select [Applications] from the [Go] menu, then double-click the [MP Navigator 2.0] icon to launch MP Navigator.

You can launch the following application software from the MP Navigator.
* Easy-PhotoPrint (Photo Printing)
* ArcSoft PhotoStudio (Photo image editing)
* ScanSoft OmniPage SE ( Converting scanned document to text)
- This application software may not be supplied with teis machine in some country.

Note : If you did a [Custom Install] and only installed the MP Driver and MP Navigator, these application software were not installed and thus cannot be launched. To launch any of the above application softwares from MP Navigator, do a [Custom Install] once again to install them.
For detailed operations of the MP Navigator, refer to the Scan Guide.


B) Scanning Using the Operation Panel of the Machine
You can scan documents to your computer by using the Operation Panel.
Important : Do not insert or remove USB cables when scanning images with the machine connected to a computer, or when the computer is at sleep or standby mode.
*If you are using Windows XP
The program selection screen is displyed the first time you press [Color] or [Black] on the machine.. Specify the [MP Navigator 2.0] as the application software to use, check [Always use this program for this action], then click [OK]. From the next time, MP Navigator is automatically started.

*When using Mac OS X
For the machine to start scanning when [Color] or [Black] is pressed, you need to set MP Navigator as the starting application software in Image Capture under [Applications] of Mac OS X.

1) Press [ON/OFF] to turn on the machine.
2) Load the documents on the Platen Glass.
3) Select the scan option.
a) Press [Scan].
The scan operation selection screen is displayed.
b) Use Up or Down arrows to select the scan operation, then press [OK].
Scan standby screen is displayed.
Save to PC : The document is scanned and saved.
Save as PDF file : The document is scanned and stored as a PDF file.
Attach to E-Mail : The document is scanned, and the image is attached to an e-mai using the e-mail application software.
OPen with application : The document is scanned and displayed on the registered application software.

4) Press [Color] or [Black].
The document is scanned. The settings configured from MP Navigator apply when scanning.
Important : If with some types of original the position and size of the image is not scanned in correctly, please refer to the "Selecting the Behaviour of the Operation Panel with Mp Navigator " in the Scan Guide (on-screen manual). and change the MP Navigator [Document Type] and [Document Size]] to match those of the original being scanned.
Note : The operation to be performed after scanning the document depends on the scan operation setting you have selected in step 3. For details on how to modify the operation settings, refer tp the Scan Guide on-screen menual.

C) Scanning from an Application Software
You can scan an image from TWAIN-or- WIA (Windows XP only) complaint application software and handle the scanned image in the application software. For detailed operations, refer to the Scan Guide (on-screen manual).

Hp 1300 series will not print word document but prints excell documents and notifications from e-mails etc

Your issue is with the Office package or your PC is virus effected, Not with the printer. Follow the steps
  1. Create a new user in the PC(Start-control panel-User accounts-New)
  2. Log off and Log in to newly created account
  3. Now try printing from Word application
  4. If you cant print yet, Try download AVG Free version anti virus and scan fer viruses.

Scan views fine; prints fuzzy

Try to change the dpi to the maximum, maybe 600 dpi. This will make the picture more defined.
