Buy a toslink cable. It's a fibre optic cable,it's not expensive about 10 euro for a metre, and connect between the sky box and dvd player. press function on the front of the dvd player to put it into audio 1 and that's it. Not all sky boxes have an optical out so check that yours has one first.

I have connected my acoustics solutions CTVL32W3HD tv to my sky box. i have no sound through my home cinema sound system for sky but radio & Dvd are ok. Any ideas please

Either you have got the wrong settings for the TV, or box or the connections are not good. The best way to have true quality sound is via a optical cable running from the TV to your sound system. Assuming both have the capability for these connections.

Hi, I have bought a Sony Dav s550 Surround Sound System. When I tried to set it up all I got was a picture on the tv but no sound. I checked the fibre optic lead even bought a new one but still no sound...

Check to see if your sky box has an output for fiber optic cable, if it does then go to the box configuration and make sure its enabled. Also is possible to transfer sound through HDMI so if your sky box has an output make sure audio is enabled.
If the box does not have the fiber optic out or HDMI then you will have to go old style with regular red and white audio cables and connect them to your home theater system. If you want audio for both TV and surround system you can use Adaptor Splitter 1 Male to 2 Female Audio AV
and get two of them, one for the reds and one for the whites that will be connected to your sky box, i hope it all makes sense and helps.

I have a sky+ hd box connected to an lg 42LH300 tv through hdmi and an LG HT805SH home cinema through optical cable. Whenever i turn sky over i lose sound and have to turn cinema on/off to sound returns ...

One of the way to connect the whole system is using only HDMI cable version 1.3a. There is audio return channel built into the cable. So you do not have to connect the optic cable.
Sky box to TV using HDMI
LG HT805 to TV using HDMI. Even the Sky box audio will come back to the LG-HT through the audio return path.

No picture on TV through Sky, Home Cinema is on but have sound.

do have sound and picture at same time you will need a fibre optical cable, you connect that from your cinema system to your tv. then you need to set your cinema system to digital input or fibre optic or check by pressing aux on your remote and see which is the right one. i am not familier with panasonic as i have samasung.
