While trying to navigate through the menu all these lines pop onto the screen like some sort of interfearance then the screen and the entire tablet freezes up, what is causing this and whats the solution?

Insert SD card into your tab and make sure it is detected and accessible.
Download your files.
Open file manager on your tab and navigate to Download folder. Click to open.
Hold on the file(s) downloaded one after the other to select.
Top right of your screen or bottom right of your screen you will observe a set of 3 dots aligned on top of each other (i.e. if an options menu has not popped open); click on these.
Options to copy, share or a symbol like a Y turned on its side will become visible; select and navigate your way to SD card (still within file manager); click to open and then Paste/copy here.

1)Make sure the tablet is NOT connected to the charger 2) Power off the tablet by holding down the power button for about 10 seconds 3) Once it is off, hold down the HOME button and connect the charger while the button's being held down. 4) When you see the HKC logo come up, let go of the HOME button. 5) Eventually, you'll see an Android logo with a red exclamation mark. If you don't, repeat step 3-5. 6) If you do see the Android logo, hold down the POWER and HOME at the same time for one second and just let go of the HOME which should bring up a "Recovery mode" menu with blue letters. Make sure you let go of the POWER button as soon as you see the menu pop up, otherwise your tablet will just shut itself again. 7) Navigate to "wipe data/factory reset" using the HOME button and select with the POWER button. 8) Navigate to "Yes - delete all user data" and select it. 9) Once it's done, you should see the menu come up again. Navigate to "Wipe Cache" and press the POWER button
10) It should take you back to the recovery menu. Simply press the POWER button while highlighted on the "Reboot system now"

Try this: Switch OFF the tablet. Now, push and hold VOLUME UP. Push POWER button. Will start with a menu. Keep holding VOLUME UP until that menu appear. After this, use VOLUME UP and DOWN to navigate in menu.Choose factory reset. Be adviced, that will be delete al of your data.
1. When the phone is powered off, press and hold the Volume Up and the Volume Down keys both at the same time, then press and hold the Power key until a test screen that shows some available options appears, usually takes about 15-20 seconds. When that screen pops up you can let go of the keys.
Press the Volume Down key to navigate down through the options until it highlights FACTORY RESET then press the Power key to select it.
2. Power the phone off all the way, press and hold the Volume Down key and press than release the Power key, still holding the volume down key for about 10-15 seconds. When you see some additional options pop up on the screen you can let go of the keys.
Press the Volume Down key to navigate down through the options until it highlights the reset option; it usually says FACTORY RESET, then press the Power key to make the selection.
You'll need to do a factory reset: 1.
With the device off, press and hold Volume
Up and Power.

Release the Power button when you see the logo, but continue
to hold Volume Up until the recovery screen appears.
3. Use
the Volume buttons to navigate the menu and select wipe data / factory reset. Press Home to choose the selection.

Press Volume Up continue.
This will reset you device to factory settings, however
anything on your SD card will still remain.
At this point you will need to start fresh as if you just
bought the device -- register with your email address, etc.
do one thing Turn Off Your Tablet
-> Hold Volume Button and Power button for 3 to 5 Secs
-> You will see a screen with android and triangle with exclamation mark
-> you will also see 4 lines of writing in blue.
-> use volume buttons to navigate to 3rd option, use home to select it ( warning this will erase your system data if need please take backup) (memory card is not affected)
-> now navigate to 1st option saying " reboot to system" use home key to select it.

Are you trying to wipe the data with the reset? This will get you back to factory settings. It is entirely possible that there are apps on the tab that need to come off and have caused a problem.
1. With the device off, press and hold Volume Up and Power.
2. Release the Power button when you see the Samsung logo, but continue to hold Volume Up until the recovery screen appears.
3. Use the Volume buttons to navigate the menu and select wipe data / factory reset. Press Home to choose the selection.
4. Press Volume Up continue.
The Galaxy Tab should then go through the hard reset process.
