did your webcam come with a software or it is possible it might need a driver

instal Picasa 3, it recognizes all web cam without any driver

The cable connector of your webcam or the internal controller of webcam is not functioning well.

Some times this webcam may work with other computers.

Try all the usb ports. Find out the maker and model on it and do a google search. You might have to download software to recognize it. You might need to even restart your computer. Since you said,"My computer doesn't recognize my webcam, I take it you tried to install it as hardware using the Device Manager in the System file in the Control Panel. If not you can try it too.

you could try to download the drivers from ezonics website.
