I have a TA Adler-Royal Satellite 40 typewriter for my office. This morning someone was working on it and they must have done something because now when we turn it on it just keeps beeping continuously. The carriage with the ribbon etc. doesn't reset to the middle position, it seems to be stuck all the way on the left hand margin. Our company will not fix these or replace them anymore so I am hoping someone can give me a quick fix. Thanks in advance.

Check the multiwire cable harness under the carriage assmbly..may have one or two broken wires close to the carriage itself...if this is the case you will probably have to have the carriage replaced.

get a computer and learn to use it with a printer. Royal may be out of business and certainly, parts for an old royal powerwriter are no longer available.
Turn the T/W off, slide the carrier to the R., look for debris in the carrier area. Spray some WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on. Move the carrier back and forth to be sure tghere isn't a bind or hitting something.
