The error code 381 on a Konica R2 Large Print device typically indicates a problem with the developer unit. The developer unit is responsible for adding toner to the printed image and when it fails, it can cause the error code to appear and the printer to stop working.
Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the developer unit for any debris or buildup that may be blocking it. Clean the developer unit with a soft, dry cloth.
Check the developer unit's connector for any damage or debris that may be preventing it from making a proper connection with the printer. Clean the connector with a soft, dry cloth.
Check the developer unit's gears and make sure they are not jammed or damaged.
If the above steps did not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to replace the developer unit.
It's important to note that this is a complex issue and it's best to have a professional technician diagnose and repair the problem to ensure proper and safe operation of your printer. It's also important to check the manual or contact the manufacturer for more detailed instructions or troubleshooting steps, because the code 381 could have a different meaning on different models or brands.
1 Wipe clean the surface of the transfer belt with a soft cloth, if it is dirty. 2 Change the image transfer belt unit if the transfer belt is damaged. 3 Change the PH unit. 4 Change PRCB.
run halftone prints from service mode to isolate which color is having an issue.
I had a similar problem with my 2430DL only with one fairly prominent white line instead of two. I read troubleshooting tips in manual for this problem and first suggestion was to wipe laser lens clean with a soft cloth. I did this and no more white line! you may try bellow for your print trouble 1) clean laser lens cover using soft cloth,
2) perform an AIDC calibration cycle through the manu--- Engin/service/power on/test reference user guide P81-82
Open the top cover. Remove the drum (part with long green handle). Below the drum you will see a strip of glass about 4-5 inches long. Take a cloth and wipe across the glass.
This will normally clear up any white lines in your print.
