Recheck if you removed the tape that's covering the ink hole on each toner. Also clean the ink hole areas on the printer too with a piece of cloth/paper and some alcohol. Last idea is to look for resetting the entire printer.
If you look through the printer maintenance functions of the printer folder in Windows, there should be an option to 'clean' the cartridges and their respective jets.
However, it's not recommended to do this too often, because just a few cleanings can deplete the ink in the cartridges.
If you have missing lines or jets aren't putting out ink across the whole printed page, then the cartridges may have to be replaced.
A message display is common with insufficient ink cartrigges. Printers that perform several printing tasks is usually common to deplete the ink capacity. Alternately, installing an ink cartrige may have been a lasting duration possible need for a new cartridge replacement. However, perform a device functionality check by opening the compartments that contain replaceable materials. Ascertain the depleted material requiring replacement like ink, printing paper. Also, observe any malalligned materials like stuck printingn paper. Once every replaceable parts have been cleaned and restored, reconnecting the printer to the computer should request for an allignment functionality.
There is a chip on your cartridge that communicates with the printer to estimate how much ink is left in the cartridge. When the chip thinks the cartridge is empty it will refuse to print any more pages no matter how much ink is left in the cartridge. These cartridges are only estimated to print "up to 840 4" x 6" photos, or 80 13" x 19" photos." If it showed half full yesterday and then you put through a large print job it is very likely the cartridge is empty. In any case once the chip thinks it's empty the cartridge needs to be replaced.
Try to print a test page first. To print a test page press and hold the bottons power and cancel together. The test page will show you the amount of ink left in the cartridges.
If the black ink color bar is not visible in the, than it will mean that the ink is low or depleted.
Try a new genuine HP ink cartridge. It should help you.
I think you need to open your printers "Properties" and set and apply that new cartridges have been installed to get past the problem. It's been a while but I had to do this with mine last time I refilled them after they showed depleted.
