SOURCE: problem with nextarx3-08 gps

you will need to re-format your card from your computer then re-download gps program to the card

SOURCE: need nextar p3 map program for SD card

I have same problem, am going to buy anotherone at Kmart copy the files from the new card and put on my old one. Will let you know if it works. Then take the new one back of course.

I called Nextar and you have to let its battery drain completely and then plug it in to charge for 5 hours. I guess it a glitch in the system :(

SOURCE: My nextar won't read the sd card. On/off function

The system will come back on if you turn it off during the NAV. You need to exit the software to shut the system down completely. THis is a built in function to remind you that you are still being guided to your destination.

How do I update my Nextar x3-08 gps so the new roads will show up ?
visit Nextar.com to order your desired maps update and Check the overview description to see which SD card lists your GPS model number and serial number. Order the matching card.

Remove the existing SD card. This is usually found in a thin, rectangular slot on the side of the Nextar GPS.

Insert the SD card with the maps update into the empty SD card slot. Press until it clicks into place.

Reset the unit by pressing the "Reset" or pushing a pin into the "Reset" hole.

Click the "Navigation" button to have the maps automatically update on the GPS.

Are you sure it will accept a 4 G card (presumably you mean 4 GB) ? Some devices are limited in the capacity of the card they will accept.

I have a Nextar x3-08 gps. It will not go beyond the opening screen. It just suddenly stopped working. Any idea what may be wrong with it? Thank you.
Once again, it's a software issue or a corrupted SD card. You can purchase a new card but the same old mapping on Nextar.com or Navteq.com. To ensure that your software stays working properly, backup the SD card onto your computer so if the SD card gets corrupted you can restore the software and files back onto your card or a new SD card that can be purchased for around 20 bucks.

Got a new memory for my phone it is a nokia 6300 and the memory card is a 4gb sd micro card and it keeps saying card not formatted wot can i do to format it i have tried on the computer but it is still...
Most likely the phone that doesn't read it and the SD card reader can read "SD" cards but not the "SDHC" that a 4G card will be. All SD cards 4G and above are SDHC, and a plain SD card reader will not read this card.
Buy an SDHC reader, and get a smaller (up to 2G) card to use on the older phone that can't read the 4G one. Hope this helps.

Doesnt go to navigation screen nextar x3-03
If it says it can't find map data then your SD card is corrupted.

It's a fatal flaw in the WindowCE 5.0 operating system that was used for Nextar GPS builds. Basically, if you have a power glitch while it's reading your SD card (contains the maps) then your SD card get's corrupted.

Don't expect any help from Nextar. You will have to get the original data from another person's SD card with the exact same model

I'm about to purchase the same model. I'm reading the instructions I printed off Nextar's site and it does say the unit is designed with SD card slot and supports MP3 and WMA format files playback. You can insert ther SD card with MP3 or WMA files in the unit for music enjoyment.
