I replaced the ink collector with a new collector, but the printer is still telling me it's full. it is usually a foam pad that has tubes that **** the ink out and the collector may have an issue you may want to replace your printer if at all possible but canon printers are hard to find parts for sometimes
Hello sir; You have to clean upthe ink collector by yourself, the procedure as follow; turn on the power open the top part ( same as when repace the cartridge) let cartridge carrrier move to the center then UN-PLUG the power, now you may move the carriage freely, move it to all the wayto the opposite direction from the ink collector, now you can clean the cell, after you clean up, turn the power switch off before you plug in the power cord.
there is a waste ink tank that stores excess ink from the printing process.
it is almost full and would need to be cleaned or replaced. and then the printer needs to be reset. Recommend Canon service for that problem, there are instructions for it posted online if you care to look around.
The 46 message tells you that the used ink collector is full. The only fix is to take it to a shop to replace the flushing box and reset the count to clear the error code.
The ink collector should be found underneath where the cartridges normally rests. Put some tissue paper on the ink padand let it absorb the ink. You might have to repeat the procedure a few times to get rid of all the ink.
Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste
ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink
and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer
indicates a "waste ink tank full" error.
The waste ink absorption pads are inside the printer, in the very bottom. They are usually soaked with ink when full and are very messy.
Replacing
the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service
facility can take care of for you.
did u checked replacing the cartridges.or if the cartridges r proper it is common problem that printer needs servicing/cleaning as the waste ink collector is now full and needs to be empty as its leaking now,
When the printer cleans the print heads it draws ink and disposes it to a foam collector in the base of the printer. Frequent cleaning via software causes this to to become saturated. To my knowledge it cannot be emptied or replaced easily and it is essentially the end of the printers life when full because the excess ink has nowhere to go and cakes on the print head. You can confirm with Canon or check the manual for replacement instructions.
100% agreed with rrrdddrrrddd. In addition: Go to Menu->System->INK CU Replace. You will get a warning that overflow may occur(and it's really a messy job), reset the counter and everything should be OK.
The error message you are getting is because the printer thinks you have gone through too many cleaning cycles and assumes the waste ink pads at the bottom of the printer are full. sometimes this is correct but not always. the only way to know for shure is to remove the cover and physically look inside at the waste ink pads. if they are saturated with ink you can do one of three things 1 remove pads and clean in water and dry (very messy) 2 get replacement pads (probably not economical) 3 take a chance and use utility (printer don't work anyway) If waste ink pads are full and you leave them it may cause problems later when you run more cleaning cycles as the surplus ink now has nowhere to go. hope this helps
How can i get that counter and. how do I do?
