The control panel on our washer will turn on and then go off on it's own about 20-30 secs later. Then it will come back on and display a backwards L and then go back to normal and then repeat. Have tried unplugging machine and plugging back in but it still does it.
Hello Scott, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
Based on the symptoms you are describing and if you are receiving an error code E41, your loading door may be ajar. Double-check to ensure that it is closed. If it is secure, reset the power again to your appliance for about ten minutes. If the error persists, it could either be the door switch assembly or the main control board in your appliance. In that case, a certified technician would generally replace the faulty part after proper diagnosis.
Best regards!

IF there is an E attached to the 45, it is your control board and the control board would need to be replaced. This is per the "Washer Tech Data Sheet"Hope that helps...

All the lights are on, but the door lock. We have unplugged it, doesn't help. Our washer is the front load, model LTF 2140ES0.

I fixed this myself and it only took about 5 minutes. The problem is the door latch needs to be reset, which requires unplugging it's three electrical connections. This has to be done inside the washer outer seal, but it is easy to get to. First remove the outer ring that holds the seal on. Next remove only the side of the seal closest to the door latch (again only the outer seal needs to be undone). With this done remove the two screws holding the door latch in place (inside). Remove the latch, unplug the three connectors, plug them back in then reassemble everything. When all is back in place hit "cancel" and it should be good to go.
