To program your remote to your Samsung HD 3500, follow these steps:

1. Turn on your Samsung HD 3500 and your TV.

You should be able to locate the model number of your remote on the back of the remote at the top usually a 2 to 3 digit number with a decimal point. Instructions for addressing the remote to your receiver.

1. Go to System Info screen.You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver or you can press the power button once and then the channel up button once on the front of the receiver.
   
2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the small white square.
   
4. Press the pound (#) button.
5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful, the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

I stumbled across this page while the owner's manual for my remote was lost. I've now found the manual (after not having any luck finding the solution on the web)!

The AKAI KC02-D2 remote operates my AKAI PDP42Z5TA 42" Plasma HD Television. It may work with others as well, but that's the TV I use it for. If the batteries are removed (or dead) for a while, it will lose its programming. Here's how to reprogram it.

AKAI = 231, 218, 221, 222, 225, 226, 227, 228

1. Turn on the Device you want to program. The remote can be programmed by pressing the 3 Digit Brand Code number listed in the code table of this programming guide. If multiple codes are listed, you may have to enter several codes to complete the steps below. (Note: For programming the VCR, a tape must be loaded/inserted first.) If your Brand is not listed, please use the Manual Search menthod or Auto Search method (Section C & D below).

2. Press and hold the SET button for about 3 seconds until the current Device LED lights (TV, VCR, DVD, STB.), then release the SET button.

3. Press the device button you want to program (TV, VCR, DVD, STB.) then the selected Device LED will light on.

4. Enter the 3 Digit Brand Code for the desired Device. For example, enter "2" "1" "8" for AKAI TV. When entering each digit, the Device LED will flash one time. After all 3 digit numbers are entered, the Device LED will turn off. If the code is not valid, the Device LED will flash three times then turn off. Check the code list and repeat from the above step 2.

(*The manual contains a huge list of 3-digit codes for various devices. If you're looking for a specific one, just ask.)

you need to get the service manual for your tv the microcomputer needs to be replace use the test mode from off your remote control enter the numbers 0-6-2-5-9-6-menu do it fast ypou should see a display come at the bottom of your screen consult your service manual and reprogram your tv if this does not work as i say change your microputer at this time i do not have a schematic to give you a part number.

Without the code on JER-323:
1.Manually turn on the component you want the remote to control.
2. Press the device button, example:( TV) and the (power button) for 3 seconds until the (on/off button stays lit).
3. Once the (on/off) button is lit, press the (on/off) button until the unit (the TV or unit you are trying to control.) turns off.
4. When the code is located, press the (stop) button at the bottom to save the code.
