I'm going to upgrade Quickbooks Pro from 2004 to 2009. Is the infromation the same as the person that asked about upgrading from 2003 to 2009 or is there a different solution?

SOURCE: Quckbooks 2003 upgrade to 2008

you need to import your company file into Quickbooks 2006 first, then from there into 2008.

SOURCE: Quickbooks error ~~ transfering files from 2003 to 2009

There may be more than one issue going on here. In some cases, going to a version that is several versions later requires a stepped upgrade. 2003 to 2004, 2004 to 2006, then to 2009. There may also be data damage existing in the 2003 file that will prevent an upgrade, until it is resolved in 2003.
Intuit used to have a policy that it would have you send in a copy of the data file and would convert it for free if you were going to the latest version.
If you are still unable to resolve this, let me know.

SOURCE: Upgrading from Quickbooks Pro 2003 to Quickbooks 2009

I would not open up the company file in 2009. Open your 2003 Quickbooks, make a backup and then restore the back up in 2009. If you do run into problems you might want to upgrade into 2006 and then to 2009. (you will need to find someone who can do this for you if you don't have a 2006 version. I can help you with that if you need it

SOURCE: Quickbooks Pro 2008 Payroll problem

Same thing here when attempting to "send payroll data", though mine's with pro 2009. I found this KB item which indicated that I should update:

http://payroll.intuit.com/support/kb/kbitem/1009052.html

I followed the update instructions here:

http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/productupdates.aspx

Even though my update status was "nothing new" for each category, I hit the "Update Now" button anyway (it was enabled, why not?). It went through the motions of updating (even though there was nothing to update). When it finished, I closed and re-opened QB, then I was able to send the payroll data. This software is far from the gold standard I thought it was going to be.

SOURCE: Will WIndows upgrade affect QB Basic Ed 2003?

I cant seem to find the manual for OS support. If windows XP is supported, the program works the same. For Vista and Win7 don't know really. Always when you're in doubt, makes the backup default.

I can't reinstall my Pro 2005 because it asks for Flash 7 then the cd tells me it can't install it.

You're several versions behind with your QB Pro, and also several versions behind with the Flash Player you're trying to install.

If you're reinstalling because you upgraded your operating system version, this is likely the root cause. QB 2005 is not compatible with Windows 7; neither is Flash 7.

While you may be able to install the program using XP Mode, that isn't the most reliable way of running it. I recommend avoiding uninstalling the .net framework files and "back versioning" as a way of getting around it, because it is likely to cause problems with other functions.

You may be best off to upgrade your Quickbooks version.

Hope that's helpful.

Reinstalling 2002 pro

Sorry to tell you that you will need to upgrade. Quickbooks is only compatable with Vista in 2008 and up. Quckbooks is not doing anything to resolve older issues.

Is quick books 2003 Vista compatabile?

QuickBooks Pro 2003 can run on Windows Vista. Right-click a shortcut to open Quickbooks (or qbw32.exe directly) and click on Properties. Select the Compatibility tab. Under Compatibility Mode, check the box and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) from the list. Under privilege level, select "Run this program as an administrator." Select OK and everything will work.
