I'm having an issue where the pages print out fine but there is a pink tint on the whole page. It's very light. It makes the paper look "dirty" compared to a new blank white piece of paper. I've changed the Waste Toner Cartridge already. All 3 color toner cartridges were changed out in Feb 2014. Changed the magenta toner cartridge with another one. Same problem occured. Pink tint occurs when either printing a demo page from the printer or printing from a Windows 7 computer. Any assistance is appreciated.

Hi there the smudges are most likely down to the black PCU (Drum Unit) and following are the reasons for the two fault caode you have given me.
SC 261 LD HP sensor
not switched
off (for K only)
After the laser beam pitch was
changed, it takes more than
five seconds for the HP sensor
to switch off.
• Defective motor
• Defective sensor
• Mechanical problem
when switching the
actuator
• Brown fuse (FU81) on
the Power supply unit
1. Turn the main switch off and on.
2. Check the sensor actuator position of
the LD positioning motor.
3. Replace the LD positioning motor.
4. Replace the LD home position
sensor.
5. Check and/or replace the PSU.

motor error
When the motor speed is
within the target level, the
motor sends a lock signal
(High to Low at CN214-5) to
the BCU.
SC380 is detected under the
following conditions:
• The Lock signal stays High
2 seconds after the motor
turns on.
• The Lock signal stays Low 2
seconds after the motor
turns off.
• The Lock signal stays High
for more than 2 seconds
while the motor is on.
• Defective motor
• Defective BCU
1. Turn the main switch off and on.
2. Replace the motor.
3. Replace the BCU.
Hope this is any help
Thanks J
SOURCE: Color Streaks down length of page
This is a laser printer, neither a copier nor a multifunction unit, therefore it has no glass. At least, I cannot find any glass in it.
I finally had an authorized Ricoh repair center examine it and found streaks on the black unit that pulls out of the right side (I forget the part's name, <$90). We replaced it and things are better but streaks of color remain. They suggested replacing the color one (about $400) but the cost is prohibitive right now, so I'll live with those streaks.
On a related note, I remain unimpressed with this printer's quality and inconsistency. For example, greys often print in pink; nothing has ever resolved this. I refuse to put any more money into it. When I can afford to do so, it will be replaced, probably by a Xerox Phaser.

Hi, I have the same problem, which has just been diagnosed as a defective developer drum by a repair specialist. The new part is $120.00. Should have the serviced unit back

It sounds like the part the toner bottle slides under to lock in place is broken. you could try and fold some paper and tape it to the toner to hold it down.

If you're good at taking things appart clean the print head. Theses machines are known for drying up. But you may get away by doing a head flushing.
1. Press [menu]
2. Scroll down to [Maintenance] then press enter [#]
3. Scroll down to [Head Flushing], press enter[#]
4. I'm not sure about this part but ensure that you flush each head and then test print. If it is still blank or partially blank repeat steps.
The best would be to clean the print head with a damp cloth.

I have not tried that. Unfortunately, I don't have a good parts manual to tell me where those parts are located and how to access them. Would you happen to know where I could find this manual?
