Sounds like you have a bad timer or lid switch. does it finish a cycle but not advance or does it just keep washing or does it wash then stop and get stuck? if it just keeps doing one cycle like wash wash wash you would have a bad timer. if it washes then stops and gets stuck you have a bad lid switch. But then again if you had a bad lid switch it would never spin. What is the brand name of this washer?

I just bought a progressive scan Tv and can't get it to srtup to any channel it just stays on channel 3 mono

Progressive scan has nothing to do with your tuning, it refers to the scan lines in laying the picture on the screen...ie. progressive scan versus interlaced scan.
to program TV channels you will need to go into the menu to do that either automatically or manually. If you have a cable or satelite box connected to unit, that may explain why it programs to only ch 3.
If using cable or satelite box I highly recommend use of Either HDMI cable or composite cables.

F/paykell not agitating

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Test a pressure switch: Click on : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZZ2bDMspj8

Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

What does temporarry and hold mean on thermostat

Sounds like you have a programable thermostat. the temporary setting is when you change the temp setting to a different temp and it will stay at that setting until the next programed change. The hold setting is to hold the temp setting you have chosen for an indefinate time. It overrides your programed settings.

I have a hotpoint Ultima WT741, and it doesnt stop filling up whilst in use on a wash/spin and says H2O, and then overflows out the top of the washing machine. Whats the matter with it?

If the flow at the inlet valve is good and then the water comes into the system. Now if the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- does not activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch off the INLET VALVE , it will overflow. So the fault is the water level sensor and showing the error H2O.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

The machine skips the mixing cycle entirely even though the blades are on correctly. The bread rises with none of the ingredients mixed. HELP Brand New!

Which program are you choosing on your bread machine? It sounds like you might have chosen the "bake" program. Is that correct?

The machine will not turn on, all the other buttons work, but I depress the start button and nothing happens, even tried holding it down, no results...

When you turn your machine be sure you choose a program (such as basic bread, usually #1 on most machines) After you do that then push start. Have you chosen your program and it still doesn't work?

Child lock light stays on - & cant start mc programmes

HI I KNOW IT SOUNDS DAFT BUT HAVE YOU TRIED SWITCHING THE CHILD LOCK OFF? I CANT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHICH BUTTONS IT IS ON YOUR MODEL BUT YOU USUALLY HAVE TO PRESS 2 BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME (& SOMETIMES HOLDING THEM FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS) RATHER THAN JUST 1 TO SWITCH THE CHILD LOCK ON/OFF. IF YOU STILL HAVE THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL IT WILL TELL YOU WHICH BUTTONS YOU PRESS TO SWITCH CHILD LOCK ON/OFF HOPE THIS HELPS!
