LG DVD burner model GSA-H42LK "code 10 cannot start"

Hi,  I have an LG DVD burner model GSA-H42LK.  In the device Mgr I see a yellow exclamation mark next to this drive.  I have tried uninstalling it. When I reinstall it I get a "code 10 cannot start" message. In "my computer" there is a red question mark next to this drive.  What is the problem?  Thanks,  Chuck

Missing Drivers for LG GSA-60L Dvd Burner.

Google (or other search) LG GSA-60L Super Multi DVD Burner + drivers -- then go to the website and usually you can download them if the unit is reasonably recent.

DVD wont recognise disc

If your DVD drive don't show up in device manager and if there's no yellow exclamation mark in device manager, try to check IDE or SATA cable connection from your DVD drive to the motherboard. Also check the cable itself (are the wires inside broken?)

I have 2 lg DVD writers (i.e. GSA 4120B & GSA H10A).My Regions on both units (both on the same computer)are both set on '0'.Is it possible to make at least one of the units "REGION FREE" ?Thanks

for burning dvd try using a program SlySoft AnyDVD for veiwing try vlc media player. VLC is one of the free software and open source DVD players that ignores DVD region coding on RPC-1 firmware drives, making it a region free player. However, it does not do the same on RPC-2 firmware drives. If both are RPC-2 then you might have to try a program like DVD Region-Free 1.0

First try to clean the drive (dvd drive cleaner cd).
If the problem continues then replace the drive with new one.
