DLP is a completely different technology from LCD - there is no way to retrofit an LCD projector. The only items in common are the light source and the final lens assembly.
A single-chip DLP projector uses a light source, a color wheel, and the DLP device itself which is like a series of tiny mirrors on a chip.
An LCD projector uses a light source, a prism/mirror that divides the light into three sources that each have a color filter and an LCD panel and another prism to combine the three images and make the final color image.
LCD projector have only LCD panels in the Projector
DLP projector have only DMD chips in the projector
there is no DMD chips in the LCD projector
there is no LCD panels in the DLP projector

no they are not type in dmd chip in serarch engine one option will probably come up something like albinia.com they have many different chips you will need to get yours out to find the number on it if you are not familiar with dissasembling simalar electronic devices may be more than you are looking to get into also even used chips that i have seen for sharp projectors run about $125 bucks
