For surround sound, you need an A/V receiver with 5.1 or 7.1 surround capability. Depending on what kind of receiver you have, the DVD player, satellite/cable box, etc hooks to the receiver, those signals go out to the TV, and the speakers hook to the receiver. The receiver decodes the signal from the cable/satellite box or DVD player and routes it to the appropriate speakers. If the TV program or DVD isn't HD or coded for surround sound, the best you can expect is 2.1 channel stereo sound. OR, you can hook everything (DVD, satellite/cable box) to the TV and run an optical cable from the Digital Output of the TV to the receiver, which is basically the same thing, just a different way to hook everything up. Hope this helps

SOURCE: how do I get surround sound from TV?

see if ur DVD player has a TV/Audio in....you have to set it up so u watch TV threw your DVD player (if you have one of of the Surround Sound in a box systems) if you have SS w/ a receiver then you'd have to run Audio out from your TV/Cable/Satellite to the receiver for it to work

SOURCE: panasonic av control receiver sa-he200

On any 5.1 system without 2 zone capabilities when you press speaker "B" the receiver uses the rear channel amplifiers to send signal to the remote speakers. As a result the receiver cannot output signal to both the rears and the remotes at the same time.

Im getting sound through my wired speakers but no bass through the woofer itself, does this mean i have a blown fuse or something more serious?

1. Check audio wiring.
2. Check subwoofer power cable.
3. If you have any way to substitute for the subwoofer this can confirm wiring.
4. The crossover in the amp may not be working, sending no low range to the subwoofer.

Denon receiver not working surround output

If everything is connected correct, the only thing I can think of, is you don't put in a surround signal. If you only feed 2 way stereo, only two speaker will work. Also if you switch to stereo, the other channels will stop working. Check the cables, the settings and the input.

Panasonic sa ht70 surround sound instructions

I just tried this with another set of speakers and unfortunately since the iPad does not have left center or right speaker gain you will have to settle for the sound from one side level. unless you can figure out a way to splice all the speaker's configuration to a audio jack then you will have to settle for ear phone sound quality.

How do I stop the hum coming from my surround sound speakers

You have a ground loop, most probably. Try grounding your receiver by running a copper wire to the screw on the electrical outlet.

No sound

Hi, I've had this problem with the M-VR400 and apparently I had the Tape2 Monitor button pushed on, and I was trying to listen to Video-1. Well, mentally I said I have nothing connected to Tape2 Monitor so I figured the machine couldn't decide on sound Input properly, so I turned off that button and my Surround Sound came back on just like Magic! :) Hope that helps.
