The electric lift is good but the weight distribution on the extension springs is off. I can not make them balance and the door seems to have a spot 1/2 way up or down that it gets harder to pull through, So the opener stops.
Try adjusting the force of the opener. Instructions are on page 25 of the manual. http://www.liftmaster.com/CatalogResourcesV3/en-us/shared/files/tucmanuals/114A3059.pdf

The motor is probably either stalling because the door is too stiff, or you have a beam break detector that is being triggered when the door is halfway down.

It is most likly your sensors You should not have to mess with your force settings but I can help you with your sensors assume you have checked to make sure there both looking at each other. First close the door so you can see them better. Tap each one of the sensors to see if any of the lights are flickering. if your then you need to tight them up and try again. Also when its dusk or night close your garage door and look at the lights see if one of the tracks is shaking sensor. If not check the wires make sure there is not staple or cuts in them. Then last thing you can check see if your door is hitting the back of the sensor mount it does happen. Also remove and ropes or handles you have fromt eh buttom of the door. That should take care of the problem. Make another post if your still having problems

I have three of these openers and all have failed after several years use from the plastic drive gear wearing out, so without seeing your unit, that's what I would guess. The gear is relatively easy to replace and I bought parts from a company called "gatehouse" (www.gatehousesupplies.com). I've only used them once, but I am pleased with the service. Good luck.

Anytime a door opens and/or closes randomly or doesn't work consistently I look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button. If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation and activate the door or interfere with the remote signal. Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ?Ā½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples. The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button. Or a remote in someone
