You need a different email, so make sure to set up your email first. Logout of facebook then go back to facebook and create new acct with your other email and setup a new user name. Now you can setup the new acct as you wish. I had one acct strictly for games that I used from one browser and kept my original acct for friends and family that I used with a different browser so I always had both logged in and available. I used Gmail for both emails so it was easy to toggle between emails.
Login to your Facebook account and then go to your Settings page. On the General page you can add your new email address.
Once logged in you can go to that page directly with this link: Facebook
Have 2 gmail email accounts ??
You can combine multiple Gmail accounts into a single,
primary Gmail account by using the POP3 Mail Fetcher application built into
Gmail.
The Mail Fetcher enables you to retrieve email from POP3
email accounts, including Gmail, and send mail as if from a different email
address all from within your primary Gmail account. Configure your primary
account to manage your other Gmail accounts with the Mail Fetcher.
Sign in to the Gmail account that you want to use to manage your Gmail
accounts.
Click the "Settings" icon, represented by a gear
cog, in the top left and click "Mail Settings."
Click the "Accounts and Import" tab.
Click the "Add POP3 Email Account" button.
Enter the email address of your secondary email account and
then click "Next Step."
Enter the password of your secondary email account and then
click "Add Account."
Click the radio button beside "Yes, I want to be able
to send email as
[SECONDARY EMAIL ADDRESS]" and then click "Next
Step."
Enter the display name for your secondary email address and
then click "Next Step."
Click "Send Verification" and then check your
secondary email account.
Click the link contained in the verification email to
confirm the integration of that account with your primary Gmail account.
All mail sent to your secondary Gmail is now delivered to
your primary account, and when responding your secondary Gmail address is
displayed in the From section of the email.
Access all your gmail accounts
Hi there, you should check the email address you used when you sign-up for Facebook. Whether it's a Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc. account. If it's in Yahoo, then go to Yahoo mail and enter your email address and password. You should see a message from Facebook containing instructions on how to access your page.
Hi Welcome to Fixya!
Apparently, he really will not be able to create an account using the same email address. I would suggest you guys creating another email address because it requires one email address for one Facebook account. So just create another email address and sign up with Facebook.
Hope this would be a big help!

Get another email address.
http://gmail.com ...is free and has 7Gb, so you can leave it alone for ages and it won't fill up with spam. Or, you could open an account and in the Settings --> Forwarding and POP/IMAP ...part, set it so that all emails from your new account are autometically sent on to the address you and your wife share.
If you do open an account; make sure you make a note of the email address and the password somewhere, as it's easy to lose passwords for accounts you don't use often.
Then, of course, you open your facebook with your new gmail account email address. Job done.
