Hi i have purchased a Hannspree 32" inch television from a website other than manufacturers distribution this television is second hand. Problems consist of the logo screen appears on turn on from standby 2 or so seconds pass the television then makes a clicking sound and no futher screen display just after the logo screen and just before the clicking sound, although sound from current tv programme on sky the sound is still noticable and stil no screen will apear and suggetions or advice reguarding a possible solution to the cause of this matter with my television will be grately apreciated Many thanks.
It sounds that the main board to your TV have shorted component/s [ICs, Capacitors Etc..] In this case, it will be better to contact any experienced service technician, or, the authorized service center for Hanspree; to get this fault rectified. Actually, the troubleshooting to this problem will be a skilled one, that a normal user can't do.
I think, you got me.

Usually resetting a device like that is done via it's On Screen Display (OSD). Maybe you need to contact Sony Tech support.
You can do this by clicking the below link:

The click is from the power regulator turning on and off. You should always hear the click if that is how it was when you bought the TV. You can check if the TV is still on by seeing how many volts it draws using a Kill-A-Watt meter and matching it up with the specifications listed in the owner's manual. If they do not match, it can either be caused from the power supply board that is faulty or main board that is providing faulty logic to the power supply to turn on or off.

Check the power supply and the back light inverter boards.

Parts: try www.shopjimmy.com or Ebay

SOURCE: I have a polaroid 32
There are 2 capacitors located on a circuit board that have gone bad. They are located inside the TV. It is very easy to take apart and inexpensive to fix. If you know how to soldier you can do it or sent it away like I did to fix mine. On the back of the TV there are 3 screws holding on the cover. One is big in the middle and the other 2 are small on the ends. Remove them and slide the cover off. Remove the screws holding the metal cover and take it off.
The top circuit board has the blown capacitors. Located on the left top 2 small round tubes located at E17 & E18. Unplug the 3 or 4 connections carefully on the board and remove the 6 screw holding it in place. Take out the board and replace with new capacitors. I sent mine to JD Electronics in Poland Me. and he fixed it. I put it back in and it is fine now. I ordered the capacitors from DigiKey.com Part # 493-2069-ND. They were $1.09 a piece.
Hope this helps...........
