SOURCE: mitsubishi model wd=65c9 when turned on green light blinks repeatably sound comes on but no picture

The bulb that lights your picture is burned out. Buy a new warranted bulb from shopjimmy.com $85 with the housing. You can replace this yourself in 5 minutes. Shop jimmy has a video showing replacement. Remove 2 screws that hold the housing in place, slide the bulb out and slide the new bulb with housing in and replace the 2 screws. Plug in and enjoy your tv.

Its a DLP so if white dots have started to appear and or increase in number the problem is in the optical light engine this set uses.

Hi Mike,

May I know if the LED light at the front panel has a pattern of flashes or flashing continuously in green color.

Please check if you can access the "Self diagnostic screen" by following the steps below.
- To activate, press the front panel "Activity" and "Channel down" buttons at the same time and hold for 5 secs. The Status led will then flash a two digit code. Example, if the error code is "23" the led light flashes 2 times(blink, blink) pause and then flash 3 times(blink, blink, blink). Let me know the error code, it will help to diagnose where the fault came from.
Note : the TV must be in shutdown not switched off, or AC power cord is removed because the code will reset to "12" means no error. Use the front panel buttons not on the remote control. If you can't access the self diagnostic, press and hold the "Activity" button on the front panel for 5 secs before entering the "self diagnostic" code.

Kind Regards,

Mjsazon

Hello,
There is a software update that is available for some Mitsubishi dlp models. The wd-65c9 is one of them. When I experienced your problem, I went to the website, downloaded the update, and installed it on my tv and boom, its fixed. It's super easy, free, and takes a few minutes.
