How to remove water dispencer cover

First I want you to check the wire connector at the bottom left hinge on the freezer door to insure the connector and the wires coming out from the bottom of the freezer door are snug and the connector has not become loose. Item location #11 in the photo=> HERE Then if that is not the problem we will need to move to removal of the Dispenser Front Panel 2186552T or 2197645B depending on color. We are looking for a burned 2162361 Micro Switch so please be careful and do this with power to fridge disconnected from the wall. On the freezer door at top where hinge is located a plastic hinge cover also covers a plug where many times the connection gets loose. Insure the plug is together firmly and all the wires are making contact. If that is not the problem then remove the ice bin push the freezer door light switch in as you press the dispense ice lever while looking at the motor coupling. Does it turn while pressing the light switch in as you also press the dispense button? If the first two test don't solve the problem then the micro-switch=> Micro-Switch-2162361-00564282

Heat from the night light will deteriorate the plastic tubing of the dispenser. Cracks in the tube will allow water to go out the side of the tube as well as in the glass you're filling. There are repair kits available from online appliance parts companys.

The screws to take the door apart should be under the rubber seal "gasket" Don't pry off the front cover it will break.

You have a dual water inlet valve where your water supply connects. One goes to the ice maker and the other goes to the water dispenser by way of the water reservoir you mentioned in the fridge.

Open the door and hold the door switch down and try the ice dispenser. Do you hear any thing.You should hear the ice door open and the augur motor turning to turn the augur which pushes the ice out the door. If the augur doesn't turn Take all the ice out of the bin and try. perhaps the motor is too weak or the augur is locked up. Take the bin out and try to see if the motor will turn with no load. The motor is behind the back cover where the bin sits. See if you get power to it using a voltmeter when you try the dispenser. If you are, probably bad motor. If not ,dispenser switch or solenoid is not working.

supply and wait for 3 to 4 hrs to get ice melted.
2. Pull out and unclip the drip tray on the ice
and water dispenser compartment.
3. Remove the screws from the ice and water
dispenser compartment front panel and
turn it over. The selector switch pack and
dispenser switches are now accessible for
testing.

I had this problem with an old amana and my water filter neded replacing. Filter was enough for ice but not for water dispenser.

you could have a problem with your dispenser module. a burnt pcb that could lead to all of your problems. switches not working, lights not working, dispenser not working, etc.

check your dispenser module and if you find a burnt part or a burnt PCB, then replace it.
