Displays sys error session manager initialization terminated unexpectedly status of 0xc00026c (0x00000000 0x00000000)
smss.exe is the process that manages sessions in Windows Computer. This is the session manager subsystem, which is responsible for starting the user session. This process is initiated by the main system thread and is responsible for various activities, including launching the Winlogon and Win32 (Csrss.exe) processes, and setting system variables. After it has launched these processes, it waits for either Winlogon or Csrss to end. If this happens normally, the system shuts down; if it happens unexpectedly, smss.exe causes the system to stop responding (hang).
In this case, I suggest that you start the "smss.exe" process manually from the Task Manager. You can press the "Ctrl+Shift+Esc" together to display the Task Manger window. Then, click on the Applications tab then the "new task" tab located at the bottom. In the New task dialog box, please type "smss.exe" and click OK.
However, you can also perform System Restore to restore the Windows System files to the time when it operated normally. Performing System restore will not delete any saved data however, all the installed programs after the selected restored point will be unistalled and require to reinstall them.
