The "dots" on the screen are the security measure and require the correct pattern to unlock. This was enacted by someone (yourself or someone you know who had access to the tablet) as a measure to keep others out of personal information.

I would direct you to the insigniaproducts.com website for instructions on a hard reset of the tablet.

Keep in mind that the security solutions are designed to keep others out of your tablet. If this was your intention, it is working too well. Choices are limited...remember/figure out the pattern, or reset the tablet and loose all data.

I'm sorry this happened but there's really no "crack" or shortcut around the security measure.

Hi, Before you do that. Check that your charger is working properly. Get a Volt/Ohm Meter and measure the connection Voltage. Also check and clean the connections to the tablet. (bad connection) If lose have it repaired. If you think it still is the battery have it replaced with a new one. Good Luck.

The problem might be that your battery is too old. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charges that it can undergo.. usually between 300 and 500, before it starts to not hold much power anymore.. If it's not the battery,
I suggest you test the charger.
if you have a multimeter/voltmeter, unplug the charger from the wall socket and tablet. Set multimeter to measure Resistance/Ohms.. Touch one end of your meter cable to one of the charger pins(that you would otherwise stick into the wall socket) & the other end to the end you otherwise stick into the tablet.. all you're looking for is 'some' measurement... if you get a reading, test the other pin (wall socket end of the charger) .. if you get a reading again, then your charger should be fine.
Next look at your tablet, where you stick the charger into.. does anything seem loose/out of place? if no.. call the shop you bought it from an ask for assistance over the phone (typically shops offer advice freely over the phone)

There are a couple things to try.

Possible Problem: The tablet may have gone to sleep and a newly installed app or update is preventing the tablet from coming out of hibernation.

Solution: The tablet likely needs to re-start.

The trick is to know whether your tablet is in hibernation (actually running but not screen is turned off) or if it is actually turned off.

Scenario 1, tablet is on but is in hibernation mode
1. Press and hold the power button until you feel the vibrate. Then release. Wait 3 minutes (to make sure the tablet shuts down). After the 3 minutes go to scenario 2

Scenario 2, tablet is turned off.
1. Press and hold the power button. Keep pressing even after you feel the vibration (for about 30 seconds).

Other possible solutions:
If that does not work, then ...

2. Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard and press and hold (same as step 1 scenario 2).

3. If the others methods do not work, connect the tablet to a PC (with internet connection). Leave the tablet connected for a minimum of 30 minutes, but upto 2 hours. With the tablet connected to the PC, press and hold the power button (same as step 1 scenario 2).

If none of those worked, connect the tablet to a TV or monitor using the HDMI connection. If the TV/monitor displays the tablet, then use the display on the TV to reset to factory defaults and force a re-boot. While it is shutting down, disconnect from the TV.

If that does not work, check the user manual for how to reset the tablet to factory default settings.

Last but not least, contact Asus support because you might have to send it for service. But I suspect scenario 1 will work for you.
