What OS (including the version) is running on your computer? Is it XP? The drv in the file name indicates that this is the basic HP all-in-one driver. For this, you must launch the scans from your computer. With XP, that means Paint (launch the program, choose File > Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan)
You are using HP PSC 1610 and There is an easy option available for you to scan documents/pictures directly to Email since you are using Outlook.

Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came withthe printer. When the software program asks you to connect theprinter to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly. Hope this helps. Bud
