My remote start used to work great for a long time, then I noticed that the LED is constantly on and the buttons stopped working. I replaced the battery and the remote start work again I assumed this fixed the problem but the led light is still on, then the next morning the remote would not start the car and the batter is brand new from the night before. Could the FOB be stuck in valet if thats possible? or what does the led being on constantly mean?

Hello hope this can help you. First check the starter wire, it is tan/lt blue located at the ignition harness. usualy during installation of the remote start system this wire is cut leaving you with two ends. one wire is coming from the ignition switch the other is going to the starter. the brain of the alarm hooks into both of these wires. if the repair man cut the wires from the brain and spliced them together he has just put the system back to OEM status leaving the alarm no way to engage the starter. I believe that may be where the problem lies but if not then I would say check your immobilizer bypass module the repair man mave have diconected that.
Thank you,
Luis

Ive had no work done to this car in regards to the remote start or anything that would need someone to mess with any system involved. the remote start worked when a new battery was placed in the KEY FOB then over night, im not sure what changed but the LED did not shut off on the fob and the car wouldnt start but it did the night before when the battery was replaced.
The remote has an internal short on the microprocessor IC chip, it could also be corrosion on the board but I have seen these remotes short out when I used to install these years ago, it will kill the battery overnight
The remote has value even broken for parts, dont throw it away sell it online !
