Just bought it, great price.
When I go to work, I leave it on all day for the cat, and also to burn it in.
The 3 days i did this, it had a problem each day, at some point.
2 times went to blank screen, wouldnt recover except by pulling the AC plug, then it was ok.
1 time it froze with an image of a show, wouldnt recover except by pulling AC plug, then OK.
So Im returning it and swapping it out for another.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Same problem here, there is a high-pitched sound in standby. As soon as the light turns blue and the TV is on it's gone. I actually exchanged this TV three times at Best Buy but all the models made the same buzz in standby. I was told that it's normal and in the store you can't hear it since there is too much humming from other TVs around. The power is transformed down to a minimum, just for the remote controls, internal clock etc. and this causes the buzz, like when you dim your lights at home. I hooked it up to a surge-protector for clean power and just switch it off over night. During the day it's hard to hear anyway. - Again, since this is my third (!) Proscan 40' exchange I can definitely say that this is normal for this model. I was just surprised that nobody mentioned the same problem so far on the Best Buy reviews.

Sounds like your resolution on your computer is set too high for your tv to accept. Try putting your computer resolution down to 1024x768 or lower and see if that works.

They actually state that you have to unplug it and replug it in to fix this problem in the owners manual so it's not just a isolated issue. I to have this problem daily now and this is the 2nd set after returning the first one due to same reason.
