When I try to make a new master, the old master does not eject from the drum and gives the error code A05-304. Also when copies are made the quality is poor (light) and the top 2 inches of the page does not print or is unreadable. Can you please offer some suggestions.

The thing might be down to an old master stuck to the drum this could cause the faint copies and the missing print.. pull the drum out check under the master.this would also cause the paper to jam on exit. the error is for no master eject check the calmp is free where it grips the master and also the path for the master eject to the waste bin
I am getting the code A05 304 as well on the RZ390UI. The masters are not jamming, they are not coming off the drum at all. The clamp seems fine. and I can't find anything in the path near the waste bin...any other suggestions?
Im a copy machine tech for about 30 years. Duplicators are not my field but i sometimes deal with them. The last one, a CZ100 did not eject master. After many minutes and sensor cleaning procedures i discovered that ,although the master clamp was opened the master did not jump to the rubber conveyor extraction belts. That puzzled me. Later i found up that the elevator (that lifts the master) was at the bottom of the machine, by some reason it fall from their holdings. and... problem solved.

The 304 message are the Exit bands (black rubber bands) There are 3 on RZ 220 which can stretch and/or break which means the master can not be rolled out from drum on exit timing.
And what Andy is correct a "sliver of master left on drum" wont allow ink to be pressed correctly and creates a "dry" master with little ink showing thru on page - if any.
It might be hard to see excess master just wipe with towel (lightly) on the unmastered drum and an end will expose itself.
