Try downloading a proper software demo from www.nicelabel.cl and make a test. If it works, means that you are either using a really bad printer or that your scanner is having problems to read that symbology
1. Press and hold the SETUP button for at least 3 seconds. 2 Press the f UP or g DN button to select the "DEMO" mode. 3 Press the BAND button to turn on or off the DEMO mode. Each press toggles between "DEMO ON" and "DEMO OFF." If no buttons are pressed 30 seconds after the DEMO mode is turned ON. The DEMO mode then begins. NOTE The initial setting at the factory is "DEMO ON." 4 Press the SETUP button again to return to normal operation
It is impossible to turn off demo mode as handsets in demo mode were specifically manufactured for demo mode. If you purchased the phone and it was in demo mode, please return it to the retailer and ask for a replacement.
You have to Select Deactivate to turn Demo Mode off. In order to get off that mode.

You cannot exit the demo mode without the code you created. Contact Archos Technical Support via the help form on the website and give your 'Product key' (Tools > Settings > Firmware and Plug-ins).
The demo mode included in the device is designed to be used at retailers ONLY. Do not use it as it merely searches for two short video demonstrations to play in a loop for store displays.
As the label comes out of the printer...it sounds like your printing in picket fence mode (vertical bars). You most likely have 1 or more pixels out on the printhead...try cleaning first...if that fails... you will have to replace the printhead.
The printer is in line mode. Do the following to take it out of line mode: Turn printer power off. Hold the feed button while turning printer power on. When the light starts flashing, release the feed button. When the light starts flashing again, press and hold the feed button. When the light turns steady amber, release the feed button. When the light turns steady green, the mode is changed. Verify the mode by printing and inspecting a status report.
This requires good timing and may take several tries. You'll know it worked if no labels are reeled out after you're done.
